Where will today's youth learn their subversion now?
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

MAD has been deteriorating since the 1970s, and has been doomed since they started taking ads.
I am about 25% sure of this.

I have an old MAD, dunno how I ended up with it, from the 1960s. I glance through it every so often, and I laugh at something every single time.

It's a mess, torn cover, faded, creased, and all that, so not saleable. But something that can make me laugh every time might as well be gold plated.

I always read MAD as a pre-teen and teen - it became a tradition to get a MAD in my Christmas stocking, a tradition that still lives on to this day (My S-I-L is the usual MAD purchaser). I agree that the magazine is going downhill - this years was especially disappointing - lots of ads an much of the 'humor' was one-sided political rants.

I wasn't even aware that they were still publishing it.

Emma met Sergio Aragonés at a Game Show Congress trip to "What's My Line." She was so impressed with the picture that he drew for her that she asked me to buy her a subscription to the magazine.

On the bright side, they said they were hearing that only one out of three issues was funny, so they'll only publish those ones....
Knowing a great deal is not the same as being smart; intelligence is not information alone but also judgment, the manner in which information is collected and used.
