At least they didn't plow the road and then inexplicably and without warning stop.

I was driving 55 to work last night down a nice, clear, plowed road, and all of a sudden it wasn't plowed anymore. Thankfully, after about a quarter of a mile of skidding and sliding, I was able to slow down enough to handle the left behind slush.....

Y'all got more snow than we did here in Louisville - but the forecast is for snow beginning tonight and by the time it's over on Wednesday the accumulation in the local area could be as much as 6". I just hope there is no power interruption tomorrow night at 8PM as there was last year at this time.

I was thinking the same thing, but then again when I lived in Indiannapolis the light snow was or did usually turn to ice. It is a "different" snow than we get here.

They're predicting 6"-12" here on Tuesday night leading into Wednesday. I may load a bunch of documents onto a memory stick and work from home. The road to work was the scene of a 49-car pileup a couple of weeks back. Thankfully, I wasn't in it, but I do not care to be in the sequel.

I imagine that up in Marley-country, even six inches is considered a "dusting".

The guy who comes and salts our parking lot at Mecca when it snows/ices slings that crap all over the place, pretty much laying waste to the bottom half of every car in the lot. The ones who have decent cars/trucks get pretty irked, but my LBN just laughs at stuff like that. Rust and small projectile dings build character....

It's bad enough my ashtray is full of packets of salt from Mickey Dee's and Wendy's. And we haven't had a Wendy's around here in over 5 years, so you know how often I get cleaned out....

My problem with snowplows.

We live on a cul-de-sac, with 12 other houses. There is an area of grass and trees in the middle of the cul-de-sac, with curb.

When snowplows enter the cul-de-sac, they almost always enter to the right and go around the cul-de-sac counter-clockwise.

This causes the snow to be pushed into and pile up in everyone's driveway.

Were the snowplows to enter the cul-de-sac to the left and go around clockwise (which is easily done, as the street is wide enough to accomodate two cars), the snow would be pushed into and pile up in the middle of the cul-de-sac, among the grass and trees.

I have thought of appropriating a "One Way" sign, and posting it at the entrance before it snows. That would likely be more effective than taking the Lord's name in vain as a snowplow dumps a hundred pounds of snow at my feet as I stand there, shovel in hand.
