Re: WWTBAM & Regis Return To ABC This Summer -- Maybe
LIne from the news story:
ABC executives might also be skittish about revisiting the past. While Disney ultimately made hundreds of millions—yes, I said hundreds—from “Millionaire,” the show’s rapid ratings flameout sort of sullied its reputation."
In light of recent events...is "sullying" such a bad thing anymore? BTW, The real Sully's Sister is in my class at church; she and the Captain were a big part of our discussion today.
Now then...no phone game...just pick at random. And make them all movie questions. Especially since I will have some tales to tell: I am going to the Oscars this year. Not just to stand outside. I will go in and watch (probably from the nosebleed section, but at least I will be there). An old friend is treating me for my 50th. And I will probably see a Millionaire-related picture take the top honors. (Guess I'm gonna have to give it a second chance.)

Does anyone need to practice their "fast fingers"?

Didn't they upgrade the console for Super Millionaire so you no longer had to process:ulysses5019 wrote:Does anyone need to practice their "fast fingers"?

I really hope this is true. I also second bringing back TOPG, but if they actually do care about this show, they need to put it in the 8 PM EST timeslot and not bury it in the 10 pm slot (although the local stations may want it to lead into the news). WWTBAM had me and my family watching and then we'd stick around for the shows afterward to see if they were worth watching.
It could happen, because as CBS and FOX are leading the pack, ABC and NBC are getting beat, I'd say badly. ABC needs any marketing tool it can get to promote Fall 2009 shows (new and returning). WWTBAM could be it.

I'd be more lethargic if I wasn't so apathetic.

TV Guide columnist William Keck likes Anil Kapoor of Slumdog Millionaire as host, if Regis can't do it.
"Slumdog Millionaire" star Anil Kapoor - the fictitious host of India's version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire in the Oscar-winning Best Picture - tells me he would enthusiastically accept an offer from ABC to host its in-development summer relaunch of prime-time Millionaire. He's concerned Americans might not accept his strong Indian accent. "Hogwash!" I say. Since Regis Philbin has yet to commit to the franchise after hosting a 2004 Super Millionaire edition, I'd place all my millions on Anil. (Oh, that's right - I don't have millions.) Millionaire executive producer Michael Davies was unavailable for comment, but I hear ABC is still hoping 77-year-old Reege's final answer will be positive. Still, Anil's schedule is wide open. The 49-year-old actor was up for a role in a new Fox/Warner Bros. pilot from House director Deran Serafian, but he didn't land the part.
