Being out of state I have to ask, D or R?
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

I remember hearing his name quite a bit during the Spitzer scandal.

Corruption knows no political party. It's just easier to do when you're the party in power.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

lol - i had the same thought, for a very brief moment before I saw who posted the news. That's usually, at least lately, a good indicator.

I'm sure he's a bad boy and all, but, it's like, local. I need to start posting indictments from here. Seriously. Who gives a shit about this one? Other than the local people involved. And I'm not asking that sarcastically. I realize we should ferret out corruption wherever we can, but, you know, we could list stuff that would take up pages and pages of Dems and Repubs that no one really gives a rat's ass about.

Of course, that's MHO.

This is actually a fairly big deal. Joe Bruno was Majority Leader of the New York State Senate, and therefore one of the three most powerful politicians in the state, until the Democrats ended the Republicans' long-standing majority in the Senate in the 2008 election. It's on my Yahoo! national news page. --Bob

Wrong! I've posted about corrupt Dems too.

But, Bob, as much as many would like to think, not all of the politicians in the New York State Senate will ever have any national bearing. Ever. Perhaps he did/would have. New York is not necessarily the bellweather of the nation in all things political. As you might have noticed.
Well, then

I am sure that he just inadvertantly had contracts and grants go to businesses that paid him a total of $3.2 million in consulting fees or other compensation from 1993 through 2006. It is a mistake that anyone could have made.
