CSI fans - Is Fishburne the new Grissom?

#1 Post by SportsFan68 » Thu Jan 22, 2009 9:54 pm

Just tuned in with about 10 minutes of show left -- Lawrence Fishburne seems to be doing the job.

Any enlightenment appreciated.

Yeah, I think he is the new Grissom. Like every other white guy, I'm always getting Fishburne and Sam Jackson mixed up.

Some movie stars can make the transition to the small screen; some can't. We'll have to wait and see. Although I suspect he will be a major scene-stealer.

He definitely has enough star power to fill up a big screen, or a small one.

He was the person I was watching in the few scenes I got to watch.

I don't watch it (not because it's not a good show; I limit myself to x hours of TV a week), but yes, he's the new guy.

He is. I am a bit behind in watching the show. He has just been introduced in my world. He starts as a professor in a class Grissom takes to get close to a crazy murderer.

I am looking forward to watching the relationship unfold.

I read in TV Guide that Grissom goes to Costa Rica to study bugs and hook back up with the love of his life, Sara.

Spoiler
At the end of the second part of the episode Grissom is seen hiking in a jungle, using a GPS unit. He walks into a camp and there's Sara. Snogging ensues and fade to black.

They've set up an interesting dynamic for him. He's far more intellectual than any of them (even more so than Grissom was), but he's completely inexperienced as to lab procedures. He's also better at psychology than any of them (he did a number manipulating Hodges on last night's show) and is more into the human side of what they are doing.

It sets up a good dynamic for potential conflict when he goes up against them (which I'm sure is going to happen) at some point in the future on the best way to approach a particular case.
