top o' the mornin'®

#1 Post by earendel » Wed Jan 14, 2009 6:56 am

Brrrrrrr!!!!! Looks like the cold (but thankfully not the snow) that has gripped the upper Midwest is going to descend upon the Ohio Valley today and tomorrow. Tonight's low is supposed to be 1 degree, and tomorrow's high only 16. Frankly I'd rather have some slow and warmer temperatures.

1 degree is supposed to be the high temperature at my work city on Friday. At home, about thirty miles south, the prediction is 5 degrees.

Must be global warming. Yeah, that's it.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

5 inches of new snow on the ground. Wind picking up. No school. Low tonight to be minus 12.

Or, as kusch would say, a break in the weather....

Yup, and put the top down on the car.
I believe in the usefulness of useless information.

And guess who just had a funny noise from his engine and "low coolant" light come on in his car.....

I found about a third of a gallon of antifreeze in the trunk; I'll fill a gallon with water at lunch and put some in, then buy a couple of gallons of antifreeze and see how much of that I need... then keep my fingers crossed tomorrow morning that I just ran low (they supposedly checked all that when I had my oil changed a month ago)...

It's in the mid 80s here, and the air conditioning isn't working upstairs. :(

We really are gonna get a break in the weather. After today/tonight that is. -14 now and heading to somewhere around -27. Warming to a high of 1 tomorrow and actually above freezing Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 12/12/08 was the last day above freezing. It will be a very welcome relief.

Wal-Mart is still closed(since Sunday afternoon) because of too much snow on the roof. Several farm buildings in the area have already had some roofs collapse. My house appears to be fine, but many have been up cleaning theirs.

Yeah, evidently you're sending that frigid weather down our way. :P
