I think you're right.

He shoulda said, "Fan, Fishie, and T-Bone -- Your opinions needed!"

My thought on this seems at odds with most of what I've read in this thread. I don't care at all whether it is counted or not, but what I can tell you is if I was the LS-Meister, it would get partial points AT BEST. It's simply not the name of the song. It's like answering "Thunder Only Happens When It's Raining" for Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams".

LOL! I think I have answered that when "Dreams" came up in an LS before. I know that's what I used to think the title of that song was....

And all three of us gave the same answer! Except that starfish's Fleetwood Mac example was better than my Fleetwood Mac example. Ha!

You should have said something! I might have retired Kiki just for you.

Oh no! I like looking at Kiki. I have come to identify her with you....

Yeah, I know that will not last....

lb13
If it would make you feel better, I'll endeavour to limit my posting to one (1) post per day (my LS answers, of course) in order to keep you enjoying the Kiki-ness of It All for as long as possible.

She will not be. It was originally going to be Hello Fanny (the natural successor to Here's Fanny and WheresFanny) but Disciple Mini already glommed it and I don't want it to look like I'm a copyhellokitty.

That would be nice, or maybe the prelude to Peekaboo Fanny that never got avatarized. I'm glad Herb Alpert Fanny is still lingering in the Bored's past.....

Hmmm. I meant to say I believed "Hello, Muddah" was too silly to be right. But it seems it is.

Which does not negate the need for more punkasses and more bitches.

I shall sing a song:

Hello, PunkAsses, Hello Bitches
now we sit here, awaiting pitches

What, you expected rhyme, and meter?
Who did you think you were dealing with?
You want a piece of me?

Nobody ever wants a piece of me. It is rather disconcerting to be so feared.

Squirrels are the architects of forests, the planters of trees, nature's own acrobats and show a zest for life that can inspire us. Every day should be National Squirrel Appreciation Day!

--squirrelmama (10/3/07)

Many of these (squirrel) migrations were probably caused by food shortages as well as habitat overcrowding. We solved that for them. We not only reduced their habitat, we reduced the whole species by about 90%. The least we can do now is share a little birdseed with them.

I decided that the avator last identified with that id should be left on it as a memorial, as the avatar that it ends up with seems to work itself out organically as the proper one. So Whipped Cream Fanny begat Peekaboo Fanny begat Kiki de Montparnasse.

Nope, I change avatars with some regularity until one settles in and just seems right. I can't tell when I put one up, it just happens and you know it's right. Kiki has been up there a good long time because she's right. And she shall remain. So, if you ever get a hankering for Kiki like you do with Whipped Cream and Peekaboo, you'll always know where to find her.

If I was the meister, I would allow it. But that's because my rules allow "title, first line, or sufficient other lyrics to convince me that you have identified the song."

If you asked for title, that's what you should get.

Re: LS Experts

#99 Post by littlebeast13 » Tue Jan 13, 2009 9:00 am

After carefully reviewing all the opinions offered in this thread from LS experts and non-experts, I have decided to stick with my original decision of not accepting Camp Grenada as an answer. This is basically a decision based on the fact that in LS, knowing the title of a song is simply a part of the game. If just recognizing songs and coming up with a part of the song other than the title that everyone would be able to identify with that song was all it took get get points in LS, I'd be a much better player myself. While I realize my rule seems to state that I will be liberal with scoring titles if you are close to it, the spirit of that rules deals with at least showing me you have an idea of what the title is in the first place. In the case of Camp Grenada, I believe everyone who answered that thought this was the title of the song rather than "Hello Muddah Hello Fadduh" or "A Letter From Camp" parenthetically, and that is just not right....

Thank you to everyone who weighed in on this. If nothing else, at least I have set a precedent for future games.....
