...BUTT-WHIPPIN' on the Panthers.

Freaky thing is...Arizona could end up HOSTING the NFC Championship Game.

I missed the first 3 quarters. In a nice concise synopsis, what happened???

1) Carolina apparently thought they could just roll the Cards. They were wrong.

2) Larry Fitzgerald is awesome.

3) Jake Delhomme sucks.

4) The Panthers' coaching staff thought passing the ball was the way to win. They were wrong.

The end.

Thanks...others may have a different opinion. :) I did see the last interception..
apparently there have been 4 of them. It does appear they may have been a bit over confident.
I was hoping it would be a close game.

The Giants didn't want to have to face the Panthers again. Still gotta get past the Eagles, though...

Skoop is probably a sad Skoop for the moment. Jimmy Johnson said something like the Panthers would win if Jake didn't lose the game for them.

In December after the overtime game in NY many concluded that the Giants and Panthers were the clear top two in the NFC; if the Eagles win tomorrow, sportswriters could say both NY and CAR were overrated since the Panthers were the only team the Giants were able to beat in December. However I'll be looking for the Giants to win and face the warm weather Cardinals with advance forecasts of the coldest weather of the season.

Someone besides the Cards thought they would win: Giants RB Brandon Jacobs told the NY Post, "I think Arizona is going to win the game. They're playing well right now and I think they want it more."

He's not very bright. Jake is not the one who called passes instead of runs. Running is what got us those 12 regular-season wins. Running is what would have kept Fitzgerald and Warner on the sideline.

You dance with the one that brung you. Running is what brung us.

Of course it's a different game if Jake is not involved in six turnovers. But it is also a different game if he is allowed to hand the ball to DeAngelo Williams or Jonathan Stewart and get out the way.

The Cards were basically on cruise control for the last month of the season. The game in New England may have been about the worst performance in history by a playoff team, and I really think it served as a wake-up call for them. Certainly their defensive pressure the last two games has been a lot more than it was for most of the season.

I don't think the Cards want to be playing a game in the Meadowlands this time of year.

Me too, Skoop. Especially since it is all my fault (with all due respect to Rexer).

Y'see, my buddy in Syracuse (who is like a son to me) is a Panthers rooter as well. So, in honor of him, and of you, I had thrown my support behind the Panthers (seein' as how MY team hasn't been in the playoffs since before my beard turned gray!)

That obviously doomed Carolina.

So again, I'm sorry.

That's what I've said over and over and over again. Especially considering the way the first drive went, for goodness sake! It just wasn't supposed to end like this for us...
