I was tempted not to say anything. It just sounded so condescending to me when lb told Kay that he didn't click on her link and then goes on to explain what he was talking about, when she knew all along, and he would have known that, too, had he clicked on her link. I now see his point about the "movie" part in the path of the URL, but it has "tv" as well. I think we've all seen laughable mis-categorizations of music or DVDs at the local Best Buy, or whatever.peacock2121 wrote:LOL - I do it.Estonut wrote:I'll never understand why people bother to respond to posts without clicking provided links:littlebeast13 wrote:
Without clicking on the link, I'd guess that's for the 1987 movie with Ackroyd & Hanks.
Me and Fanny are discussing the classic TV show (Not the 50's episodes nobody ever airs, but the late 60's revival that is the very definition of classic TV.....

Re: You can't trust anybody anymore
It's not that great of a price. Look at the description and some of the comments. It is 24 episodes with a total run-time of 420 minutes? That's an average of 17.5 minutes per episode. That doesn't make much sense (as they should run 22-24 minutes per episode), but still seems clear they could have done that on less than a 6-disc set.WheresFanny wrote:With a price like that, no wonder they're out of stock!kayrharris wrote:WheresFanny wrote: If it's not on Amazon, I don't trust it as not being a ripoff or a bootleg. My mom's fave tv show is Coach (or maybe the Golden Girls). My mom had me look all over to find season DVDs of Coach, but they hadn't been released (they might have by now). Then she was all jazzed because she found the complete run of Coach on some rinky dink website. I told her that if Amazon or any of the other big boys didn't have it, then it's wasn't an official released and was probably just copied off of a tv broadcast and burned onto DVD. But she wouldn't listen to me.
Sure enough..... She really needs to start listening to me!
I"m not saying this isn't an official release, just an anecdote that has nothing to do with anything.
Amazon has them as well...but they're out of stock right now.

I didn't say the price was great. Price is relative. If it's almost half the price as the other place, then it would not be surprising that they were out of stock, because more people would look at say 'wow, it's half the price of the other place!' and buy there.Estonut wrote:It's not that great of a price. Bad news, lb.....
I busted open my mom's Dragnet set (the tin box collection!) and it was all episodes from the 50s.
I'm still on the case, but we may never know exactly what colour of paint the tripped out beatnik was eating off of his brush and whether or not he was Blue Boy's personal makeup artist.

Blue Boy was also a character in an episode of Dragnet. In this episode, the venerable detectives are after lsd users, as it has just been made illegal. Recently they have been having trouble with a young man who paints his face half blue, half gold and calls him self Blue Boy. As it so happened, he was first picked up by the detectives because he was in a park tripping and decided he was an ostrich, burying his head in the dirt.
Later in the episode, Blue Boy dies--not from LSD like they may have wanted you to think, but from what looks like a pile of speed in multiple color capsules. His friend doesn't notice him dead, because he's listening to Beatnik Jazz and eating paint off the end of his paintbrush. Oh dear.
Those crazy kids; what will they think of next?

That seems to say that the paint eater was in the same room as Blue Boy when he died. That goes against my recollection that he was at the first place they went to with all the other strung out kids. I'm thinking that's a mistake, because I recall the friend with Blueboy now, and I'm pretty sure it's not our paint-licking beatnik....

I'm almost positive that he was not in the same room, because I seem to recall the beatnik dismissing them from his mind immediately and F&G giving some disparaging headshakes before departing.littlebeast13 wrote:kayrharris wrote:Looks like we'll never know without buying the DVD's. And, speaking of that little brat Gerald Paulson, there was a father and son on Judge Judy Friday (ha, Friday! I didn't even think of how funny that was) that reminded me of him and his old man.
