I'd say the Doctor lost all his good karma points.
Suitguy is not bitter.
feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive
The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

I can't decide whether this story or the one about the requested bail-out for the porn industry is funnier.

Almost a third of the people answering the poll question think he is right in demanding the kidney back.
I'm very surprised by that.

Nope -- she's probably got 3 kidneys now to his one -- they usually don't remove the native kidneys unless it's necessary.peacock2121 wrote:Marley is a funny man!MarleysGh0st wrote:He's gone one kidney and she's got one--sounds like they've already divided their community property!
So they still have 4 kidneys between them, just redistributed!

Prediction on a follow-up story.
She is slipped something in her drink one night, wakes up in a bathtub filled with ice-cubes with a note telling to get to a hospital quickly when she notices a small scar on the lower part of her back.

Scrubs is generally more original than that, as the story has been passed around as an urban legend forever, and had been featured in at least a couple of movies way before Scrubs did it.clem21 wrote:Ha! That's in a Scrubs episode...frogman042 wrote:Prediction on a follow-up story.

Re: I am not making this up
When Cindy got sick, I looked into kidney transplantation. How it works is, the donor is a healthy shelter cat -- and once the transplant is done, you adopt the donor kitty and give it a wonderful home. So you end up with 2 cats and 4 kidneys -- just redistributed a bit!So they still have 4 kidneys between them, just redistributed!
Unless there's some valid medical reason to remove the native kidneys, it would simply be unnecessary surgery.
Here's how it looks in a person (I'm not sure how it looks in a cat!)

Something's wrong with that illustration: If the host had only one diseased kidney, s/he would not need a transplant.VAdame wrote:When Cindy got sick, I looked into kidney transplantation. Since the article claims that the doc's chances of either getting his kidney or the cash rest somewhere between impossible and completely impossible, maybe he'll settle for visitation?

You're right; this one's a little better:Something's wrong with that illustration: If the host had only one diseased kidney, s/he would not need a transplant.

Ha, that's what I was thinking! Somebody used to have a comedy bit about visiting his best friend's kidney, after friend died & kidney was transplanted. "Oh, I'm not visiting YOU......I'm visiting Joe's kidney!" He then proceeds to follow the recipient around making sure he's taking good care of it.Since the article claims that the doc's chances of either getting his kidney or the cash rest somewhere between impossible and completely impossible, maybe he'll settle for visitation?
