So, it is indeed dear old Store-Bought Marmalade which has bored people to tears. Too bad. This movie is one I really love.
I am not an Altmanite down the line (except maybe George Altman who played for the Cubs in 1962), I am somewhat lukewarmish about Short Cuts, 100% disliked Kansas City, however on the other hand, almost 100% like Ready-To-Wear, a movie which ticks off a lot of watchers..
However, my personal most boring movie, and possibly one I might even contrarianly put on the list of worst movies of all time, is from an era long before Altman:

Almost as bad as turning the story of probably the most famous shipwreck ever into a chick's flick with special effects!

I'm curious to find out if you liked Dr. T and the Women. I know I haven't left much room for anyone to say they liked it. Even without my Altman bias, I do like "Gosford Park" (although it's hardly his best work), but whoever said it's not about the plot was exactly right. I just looked at his filmography and discovered that I have seen precisely 2 Altman films: The aforementioned Dr. T, which I loathed, and A Prairie Home Companion, which I loved.

Ok. So let me try to recap here.
I took Blazing Saddles in the same vein as Animal House. Some very funny parts but not enough, IMO, to sustain an entire movie. I much preferred watching Belushi in the "Cheesburger, Cheeseburger" and Star Trek skits on SNL.
I have never see or heard of Dr. T. I hated Nashville.
I have never seen Prairie Home Companion and it is not on my watch list (and judging from the fact that it is an Altman movie, probably won't get there either).
I enjoyed Princess Bride but how could you not like a movie with Andre The Giant? After seeing Patinkin in Chicago Hope and Criminal Minds it's kinda funny to see him in PB.
It took me three tries to finally take in GWTW. I thought it was probably an hour and a half too long.
I would have given Terms of Endearment a B- although I liked Shirley MacLaine's performance. I preferred Debra Winger in An Officer and a Gentlemen which remains on my favorites Shelf. Even in Urban Cowboy she was OK.
I think that covers it.

I found this movie to be incredibly boring too, and I don't think I made it through all of it, and I almost never give up on a movie on DVD, and I have never walked out of a movie theater early.

I've enjoyed most of Altman's work, but certainly not all of it, and "Dr. T." certainly ranks up there with his...um...rankest. I also agree re: "Kansas City", for the record.
