I had a rough time choosing a winner for my suicide pool (it's a bottom of the hill pool, with castoffs from the king of the hill).

I guess the "obvious" pick is the Colts, but I dislike Peyton Manning with a passion bordering on absurd. He is less horrible than when I originally began to hate him, but not enough for me to get over it. He does make pretty good TV commercials.

I think the Falcons-Cards game could be great, but I can't root for Atlanta and I don't trust the Cards except their passing game.

Philly could completely clobber the Vikings, as they seem to be peaking at the right time. But I don't trust them.

I finally went with the best defensive team in the bunch, and picked the Ravens. I trust that defense. Not the offense, so they may not win, but there is at least something there to be relied on.

Because bookies have made the road teams 1,1,3,3.5 point favourites???

Why would the opinion of Las Vegas oddsmakers on this years first round games have any bearing on how the NFL seeds its playoff teams and aligns its divsions???
