The boys at Skippy's Prediction Services, Inc.,

#1 Post by wbtravis007 » Mon Nov 26, 2007 5:49 pm

have gone ahead and declared that it'll be Obama vs. Romney.

Just like I predicted they would.

I tell ya ... I've gotten really good at predicting what they're gonna say. Maybe I ought to just fire them and come up with my own predictions.

I'll think about it after the holidays, I guess.

In 1988, I predicted Bob Dole vs. Paul Simon, so I have steered clear of predictions since then.

Well, I'm pretty sure that your '06 predictions were damned close -- at least for the Senate races.

Seems like I remember the boys in Predictions telling me that they pretty much just copied off your paper, covered their tracks by making a change or two, and ended up perfect. It looked good in the Annual Report, that's for sure. Man, talk about a surge!

Anyway, since I've let the boys know that a Bloomberg/Hagel ticket might well get my vote, they don't want to take a position on the ultimate outcome yet.

I predict it won't be Kennedy vs. Craig.

It also won't be Frank vs Foley.

I may have to adjust my thinking...I was betting on Colbert vs. Pat Paulsen.
Enough already. It's my fault! Get over it!

You should just keep thinking like that.

It's what we have come to expect.

You don't want to upset the balance.

Here's a shock - something totally off topic...

I need to keep posting because I love that picture of Molly. Annie took it with the digital camera a couple of weeks ago. That is Molly at her best.

I just checked, and they're sticking by their prediction of a couple of months ago.

We'll see. I ain't ready to double down on it, that's for sure.

I wouldn't be surprised if you're right.
Well, then

I think Hillary will be my party's candidate.

I think McCain will be the other party's.

Who was that guy who ran about 8 times as the Communist Party candidate? Guy something or other?

And why haven't we heard from Lyndon LaRouche this campaign. IIRC, he was incarcerated and still managed to buy a half-hour of TV time somehow...

No, but I am sure that you'd like to have someone double down on you.

Just got off a conference call with the boys in (for now) Prediction Services. They said they haven't been proven wrong yet -- that McCain could still die or something. I told them that I'd wait till the convention before firing them.

Now they're saying that they never said which year.

Man, talk about not wanting to admit mistakes!

I tell ya. Some people!

I would like them to predict Clinton vs McCain, or Clinton vs anyone.

I passed this on to them and told them not to charge you, since you've been such a good customer and what not. [Still haven't gotten your response to the customer survey (re: the condom-mints), though!]

Their response: Ask again later.

So, I did.

Their response: Concentrate and ask again.

Me: You guys are using that g-damned Magic 8 Ball, again, aren't you?

Their response: Silence.

Me: That damned thing wasn't reliable 40 something years ago! You expect it to work now? I paid good money for that quija board, damnit! Get your asses on that thing and get me an answer! I swanee!

Anyway, long story short, according to Eleanor Roosevelt, Hillary would probably beat McCain. Almost too close to call, though.

To make sure that we don't end up with somebody who's not well-suited tempermentally to be the next president -- (and I'm not talking about Hillary here) -- people should vote for Obama.

I never got the survey, but I think that condom-mints is a brilliant idea.
