I guess speed is more important than competing percentages.

I think speed is the only thing that counts for bonus points. In a more perfect world, though, I agree that the speed points ought to be increased or decreased according to some formula that takes into account the percentage of correct answers.
I thought about it a little more -- I don't see how it could work, unless those points could be assigned only after it had been asked a minimum number of times, say 100. What about the first time a Q was asked, if the first person asked it got it right?
But the speed bonuses always have to be assigned, right from the get-go.
Anyway, I was very happy to get a 10% Q right. The other day, I missed an 80 percenter.

This is a tough crowd. After I answered this morning, I was #152 on Sploofus. Doesn't even get me in the Top 25 here.

I guess I'll join the club where the members answer their Sploofus Qs at work with their high-speed connections. I hit an answer to today's question, it took forever, time expired, and I got Error Code 501. Pretty sure I got it wrong, so I'm not going to ask for a new question.

I had two questions to answer today. I answered the second question faster than the first but got more points on the first question.

I need an explanation. My question yesterday was on which word was an auto-antonym, one where it can mean opposite things in different contexts. The answer was "fast". I can't figure out which two of the many definitions of the word would be considered opposites to each other. Assistance, please.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

It can mean moving rapidly or not moving at all.

you can move fast or hold fast.
Suitguy is not bitter.
feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive
The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Dammit! I though my good time (6 seconds is a good time for me on this slow ass computer) would edge me into the Top 500, but only 513th......
One more day to make the final OCD'er list.....
