Re: Passive Aggressive
In my head, Passive-Aggressive is like telling the 20-something co-worker you don't like: "I love that sweater you're wearing. I got my grandma one just like it for Christmas." Basically, getting your way, or getting a dig in, (aggressive) while on the surface seeming to be 'nice' (passive).
I've been guilty of P-A actions, but prefer to think of it as being artfully sneaky.

When reality requires approval, control replaces truth.
To argue with a person who has renounced the use of reason is like administering medicine to the dead. -Thomas Paine
You can ignore reality, but you can't ignore the consequences of ignoring reality. -Ayn Rand
Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities. -Voltaire

It's 10:20pm, lots of cars, but still no throbbing bass or window shattering decibels. Yahoo.

I have always thought of that kind of behavior as snarky.tlynn78 wrote:In my head, Passive-Aggressive is like telling the 20-something co-worker you don't like: "I love that sweater you're wearing. I have thought of passive aggressive as saying nothing when others are complimenting the sweater. or Saying "you think so?" when someone else does. or sayin Yeah? when someone else does.

Suitguy is not bitter.
feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive
The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

This whole site is too funny! It reminds me of clem, if clem couldn't spell......
