When I saw that there were 99 posts on this thread, I was overcome with an irresistible gratuitous posting impulse

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

So I just read the box of what has been irrevocably dubbed The Fucken' Turducken and I see I'll be serving up 57% of the cholesterol and 47 grams of protein each of my guests should have in a day, if they take a full 8 oz portion. Meat inside meat inside meat inside meat. W00T!
