Ha, since you don't show, I obviously had no idea you were here when I invoked you.minimetoo26 wrote:I taught my b-i-l how easy it was to make a prime rib, so he now gloms it for the Christmas Day menu.
For Christmas Eve, I will be making a Cajun turducken along with the regular ol' turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, and whatever all else I decide. We had a ham for Erin's birthday, so that covers all the cholesterol bases, I think.
I will make the hot spiced wine again. I don't even care if I drink any. I just like to sniff the fumes all day. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...............

My Aunt Kay, also an unbelieveably bossy first-born, worked for Lancaster Farms, formerly one of the largest turkey growers in the country, and she usta say the same thing -- people should roast turkeys all the time, not just at Thanksgiving and Christmas! She couldn't convince even her own sis, though -- it was a lost cause.littlebeast13 wrote:VAdame wrote:Well, gotta remember that we here in the States had turkey less than a month ago! It's too soon to do another turkey dinner.I am absolutely flabbergasted that you all don't have turkey for Christmas dinner! Here in Ontario, my family were the weird ones for having ham.
I'm more amazed at how many are having beef rather than ham!
To me, Thanksgiving = Turkey, Christmas = Ham, Easter = either Ham or Leg of Lamb.
Thanksgiving and Christmas are the only two times each year I get to have turkey, so dangit, my mom makes a turkey for Christmas!
It is never too soon to have turkey. It should be served once a month.... and not that deli crap, the real McCoy.....
