RIP Dock Ellis

#1 Post by silverscreenselect » Sun Dec 21, 2008 10:06 am

Pirates pitcher who once pitched a no-hitter while admittedly on LSD and then led the rotation on the 1971 World Series team. He also gave up Reggie Jackson's monster home run at Tiger Stadium in the 1971 All Star Game. He was later traded to the Yankees with Willie Randolph and pitched for the Yanks 1976 AL championship team. After his career he became an anti-drug spokesman.

Age 63 from a liver disease.
