Get ready for the snow!
We're having big storms here. I'm not sure which way they are headed.

It's heading towards me.
I came into work a little early, because I'm sure I'll want to leave early. Radar shows the snow just moving into our county now, with 6 to 10 inches expected.

Yeah, I got up early because I wasn't sure how bad it was going to be. Plus, I was still fired up after last night's interview and couldn't sleep. LOLMarleysGh0st wrote:It's heading towards me.![]()

I don't think Ithaca, NY is all that close to Idaho.cindy.wellman wrote:Do you live near me, Marley?
And now I'm thinking we're talking about two different storms. This one is stretching from Minnesota to the east coast.

We are expecting a snow/sleet mixture today, with an accumulation of 6-8 inches of snow by tomorrow afternoon.

We are expecting 8-12" starting around noon. I am hoping the boss lets me head home early. Had to come in, though, because of a shipment and record review.
I will get to try out my new Toro snowthrower. Bought it about a month ago, and finally put it together last night. Until this past Wednesday, Fort Irwin had had more snow than we had in the northern suburbs of Boston.

High today 74, high tomorrow 76. You'd think I'd moved to south Florida.
On the other hand, I'm on day 3 of a major headache!! Scheduled an appointment with my
chiropractor as I've over medicated for 3 days now and I don't think I can do it another day.
The humidity here is ridiculous!! (94% right now and it's NOT raining!!)

If there was any chance of getting out of this area now that the storm's begun, you'd be getting some company!kayrharris wrote:High today 74, high tomorrow 76. You'd think I'd moved to south Florida.

Re: Get ready for the snow!
we are still in a deep freeze here, and are expecting more snow on the weekend. Thankfully, school is out this afternoon, until the 5th, and I only work Monday and Tuesday of next week.
I am really hoping it is not as bad as predicted, 10-15 cms, because I don't (of course) have snow tires and Big J and I are supposed to spend Christmas eve and day with my parents. They are in quite a rural area though, and the roads could be really dicey.

Yesterday morning it was 20 degrees.
This morning it is probably at least 50 out there...
Sunday morning, it will threaten single digits....

So, yesterday, it was in the 20's all afternoon....
The temp rose throughout the evening and night, until it hit 50 early this morning....
And now, at noon, it is back at the freezing point....
So much for your typical daily high and low temps....

This storm is missing us - we're too far north. But we're supposed to get hit Sun. night.
But the windchill is -9 right now. I'd rather have snow.

Here is the weather for Ojmjakon, Russia
Suitguy is not bitter.
feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive
The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Re: Get ready for the snow!
We got about 5 inches from the storm last night/this morning. They closed all the schools here (today was supposed to be the last day before the holidays). Tomorrow we get a break to dig out, and then tomorrow night we go under another storm watch-this one goes all the way to Monday. The weatherman even mentioned the dreaded lake effect.
I guess we will have a White Christmas.

Looks like our total is about 7 inches. Sting will plow us out this morning and then we will wait for the storm that will come over night!
