FTR, in the Top 200 there were only 3 other instances where BB's who switched places!
Slam took 146th place from SLK
Geoffil took 153rd place from dimmzy (And got her 1000th post in the process)
and Estonut jumped over 4 BB's to take 184th place...
Hard to believe just 48 hours of downtime created such a dull rankings. I have done 6-day editions that have still been lit up like a Christmas tree.....

My, what a dull listing. Did you count our messages-in-bottles thrown from the GC?
Addendum: never mind. I just read the note on the bulletin board in the other thread.
I'll just have to drag a few messages over here, then.

Or maybe he dint want to be lobbied for what ended up to be the Edition anyway.

Re: This weeks rankings- The Day The Bored Stood Still edition
Thanks as always for doing this, LB.

Fun and very well crafted sci-fi satire dealing with outer space martians that resemble clowns and fly in a spaceship that resembles a circus tent. They come to earth and start killing everybody and wrapping them up in a cotton candy like cocoon. They store them in a freezer like room on their spaceship and then when these cocoons become 'ripe' they stick a straw into them and suck their blood.
It's all a very unique parody on clown culture and those old sci-fi movies from the 50's. There are shades of INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS, THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL, WAR OF THE WORLDS, and THE BLOB just to name a few. In many ways this film is an improvement over those. Everything is fast paced with a very inventive mind set. It takes all those things that were always considered harmless and childlike and then turns them into very threatening and scary things. The best one is the old balloon dog that here becomes a very vicious little beast.

You found a "little beast" reference that actually ties in to this week's edition title! Very nicely done, Sprots!SportsFan68 wrote:Thanks as always for doing this, LB.

Re: This weeks rankings- The Day The Bored Stood Still edition
Hmmmm.
Because of the Internet Explorer virus problem, I switched over to using Firefox here at work, and I installed the NoScript add-on for that. I've got the Bored on my Trusted Site whitelist, but all I'm seeing is the word "Image" for this image from another site. I wonder why that is being blocked as a script?
The Bored avatars are just fine.

I've got the same problem. I think you'd need the source of the image to be trusted in order to see it. --BobMarleysGh0st wrote:Hmmmm.

Bob's got it right. Whitelisting wwtbambored.com will only work for images and scripts that are actually stored at wwtbambored.com, and that only covers that avatars and other graphical elements of the Bored itself (and, on rare occasions, something that I might link to because I've stored it here.)

You are about 100 behind MMFF, and the gap between her and jeemie is much larger than that...
Your best hope at being green is to let uly pass you, then hope ES chews on his wires (as payback for him forcing all those squirrels to pose for his avatars against their will) so he can't post for a week and you can get back ahead of him......

So the IMG tag is considered a script leading to somewhere else, which NoScript will block (because it's to a site I've never heard of)? That's inconvenient.tubadave wrote:Bob78164 wrote:I've got the same problem. I think you'd need the source of the image to be trusted in order to see it. --BobMarleysGh0st wrote:Hmmmm.

Gratuitousness didn't used to be a problem for me....there was a time when I made it as high as 19th in the rankings, you know. Okay TubaDave, use the Kay approach. Go to the thread where we all thank you for all your hard work. The reply to each one individually.
That will keep you busy.
