Not a complaint

#1 Post by christie1111 » Wed Dec 17, 2008 8:47 pm

Not by any means as I am so happy to have the Bored back.

But chat is down, right?

Just checking in case I am doing something wrong.

I guess you are doing something wrong!

Try again:

I really got to go to bed, however.

Try again, Christie. I made it in on my second try. Rexer and I are there now.

Don't forget to log in again on the old board.

Could you try a different browser? I'm on Internet Explorer, which is loaded into many computers.

Okay. I dunno if this would make a difference, but how about clearing out your internet cache, just in case your computer is grabbing a stored page, instead of loading up a new one?

Do you know how to do that?

I admit I do not.

Click the start button on your lower left corner.

Click "control panel."

Click "Network and Internet Connections."

Click "Internet Options."

Under "Browsing History," click delete, which will bring up another screen.

Under "Temporary Internet files," click "delete files" and confirm "yes."

Note: do NOT click "delete all," or you will lose all your cookies, too.

Deleting the files will take perhaps 30 seconds or so. When it's done, close the top box and click okay on the Internet Options box.

If you're on Windows XP:
From the top menu (File, Edit, View, Favorites, Tools & Help), select Tools.
Go to the bottom of the options and select Internet Options.
Press the Delete button under Browsing History.
From the next choices, press the Delete Files button under Temporary Internet Files.

If you're on Windows 98, I think it was all menus (no windows nor buttons):
Tools/Internet Options/Delete Temporary Internet Files.

Or something like that.

If you're on Vista, see if there's a similar path, or search help for "Temporary Internet Files" and find the topic on how to delete them.

Hope this helps!

Esto, thanks for realizing -- as I did not -- that different versions of Windows have different paths to get to the same tools.

Thanks to both of you, but that didn't seem to help.

Did you try Firefox instead of IE?

I couldn't get in last night but I'll try now to see what's up.

It loaded fine for me in Safari, but that's a Mac browser so it won't help you.

Hmmm.

I would try Firefox before giving up. It's worth downloading anyway, in case IE ever wigs out on you.

We could chat a little.

As long as it doesn't involve Zap's private bits.

Maddie did a really nice job. She made people laugh a lot. Her voice cracked a bit with emotion towards the end, when she talked about her last visit with Jean, but she held it together. Emma was a mess. She went in for the viewing, which she didn't do with her great-grandfather last year. She stayed in the room with the family, but I think that seeing her Great-Grandmother's body, made everything seem more real.

We thought that it might rain that day, but it didn't. It was very cold though.

We were in L.A. for almost twelve hours. I hired one of Maddie's friends to "baby-sit" Zap for the day. At first she thought it was a strange job, but he followed her everywhere and stuck his head on her lap and tried to snuggle when she was reading, so she fell in love with him.
