Zap's Penis

#1 Post by PlacentiaSoccerMom » Wed Dec 17, 2008 12:36 am

Emma stayed home from school yesterday. Sunday was Jean's funeral and not only was she emotionally spent, but she caught a cold from one of her classmates.

She was rubbing Zap's belly and all of a sudden she yells, "Mom, look at Zap's penis!" I respond, "No, I don't want to look at his penis." [Zap is a very happy dog most of the time and it was kind of an adjustment for the girls to learn to deal with his "lipsticking" all of the time, without commenting.] She said, "Mom, you really want to look at this!" So I looked.

Zap has a bump which is about 1/2" to 3/4" in diameter about 1/2 inch away from the center of his penis. Not only that, but his skin is a violent shade of purple red radiating out from the penis. He had no problems peeing and doesn't seem to be in pain but it looks horrible.

I texted the person we usually work with at Hemopet to see if she had ever seen anything like that. She told the head of adoptions and they told me to bring him in, but make an appointment. I was finally able to get in contact with somebody today and they want me to come in tomorrow when their Vet comes in. Their Vet specializes in greys and they said because the breed is quirky, my vet might order some unnecessary treatment. Zap is my baby, so I worry about letting it go so long, but I don't want him to have any procedures that he doesn't need.

It's a swollen lymph node and it should go down in a few days. I was given a cream to rub on the afflicted area to get rid of the redness and swelling.

I figured that everyone would derive amusement from this development.

At least it's not cancer, that's what I was worried about.

I share your relief.

So will this weeks rankings be The Week the Bored Stood Still or a reference to Zap's Penis Salve? You know I can just see Billy Mays hawking Zap's Penis Salve.
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

I will be lobbying for The Week the Bored Stood Still.

Not that anything I say makes any difference to LB. Mind of his own . . .

Last week, I lobbied and lobbied and lobbied and lobbied and lobbied and lobbied and lobbied and lobbied and lobbied and lobbied and lobbied and lobbied and lobbied and lobbied and lobbied and lobbied and lobbied and lobbied and lobbied and lobbied and lobbied and lobbied and lobbied and lobbied and lobbied and lobbied and lobbied and lobbied and for Prime Time Leno Edition, but nothing.

I decided to quit and lobbieding before we had to drag the Bored Sweeper out of hibernation.

My rubbing salve on Zap's penis is much less profound than "The Week the Bored Stood Still." I vote for the latter rankings title.

Hmm, I'm a little confused because there are no lymph nodes on the penis. The dog's lymph nodes are located similarly to ours: the neck under the ears, in the "armpits", the groin area, and behind the knees.

It sound like it may have become irritated and inflamed (does he lick alot?). In which case the cream sounds like it should do the trick.
