Survivor thread

#1 Post by christie1111 » Wed Dec 17, 2008 10:02 am

I am swamped at work today, so can't post a long missive of how happy I am that things worked out the way they did.

But a good guy won!

And he did it in an honorable way. Including keeping the Immunity necklace when Kenny thought he should get it. Kenny was a snake.

But how did it come down to one vote and almost having a non-player win?

Bob was my favorite the whole way through.

And kudos to Sugar for making it a tie so they had to duke it out amongst themselves. And that Bob was practicing building fire!

This was one thing I really wanted to post when the Bored was down!

The three votes Suzy received were "sour grape" votes. Kenny, Randy and Matty. If Sugar would have explained to Matty that she just couldn't choose between Bob and him, so let them win or loose it on their own, maybe he would have voted differently. Randy was pissed over being made a fool. Kenny, well, we all know his problem. I think he would have stuck with Suzy in any case, those two were tight.

Bob can thank Sugar for the win, she saved his bacon more than once.

Lastly, how about that Corrine, nasty bitch. I realize Sugar's crying may have got on everyone's last nerve, this is probably why they sent her to Exile Island so often. Having worked with a woman, cubicle right next to mine, who cried constantly over everything, I know how this can work on someone's last nerve. To get so absolutely nasty like Corrine did, absolutely unexcusable. Loved it when Sugar flipped her off.

Suzie's votes were from Matty Crystal and Kenny. Randy voted for Bob. Jeff asked him about that at the aftershow, and he said it was because Suzie kept on talking to people about the cookie incident.

Matty and Suzie were in an alliance all along, and so he would have voted for her no matter what.

Your right Trish, all the discussion with hubby over who Randy would vote for got mixed up in my mind.

I really think Matty would have voted for Sugar if he would have realized why she did what she did, letting him and Bob decide their own fate.

Passing on a question from a friend I saw at lunch: Who won the $100,000 prize, the one for "fan favorite" or something?

Matty came in third favourite

Sugar came in second favourite

Bob came in first and got the 100,000 too.

BTW, Randy was absolutely hilarious at the reunion show. Where was this Randy all season?

As for Corrine, good for her. She knew she could extend her 15 minutes of fame by giving them a "big survivor moment" so she did. Then she proceeded to try to increase her "villian rep" at the reunion. IMHO, she may have landed herself on the next favorites or all-star show with those comments, which may be exactly what she was going for.

I kept thinking that Randy looked so familiar. When he said he graduated from Vanderbilt with an engineering degree, then I realized where I knew him. We were at Vandy at the same time and I am sure I had classes with him.

I checked the school directory and it shows he was a manager at a Stop and Go in Texas in the 1990's.

I had a much different (and negative) take on Randy at the Reunion show. To me, he seemed reticent to speak and could barely get out a sentence that made any sense. I liked him much better on the episodes before he was sent to the jury. When he sported a mohawk, however, was when I lost all respect.

Corrinne's attitude was, in my opinion, much more amusing.

Of course, Bob also could barely speak at the reunion. I'm glad he won. I am not as pleased, however, that he also won the Fan Favorite $100k, which I thought Sugar would get; but it was certainly deserved by either of them.

Had I been on the jury, I might have changed my vote from Bob to Sugar, solely because she voted for the tie when only four contestants were left. I thought that was a majorly classy move. In the end though, it was why she didn't win, so it wasn't the most strategic move. But it was certainly one deserving of praise.

Sugar's voting for the tie would have been a lot classier, in my opinion, if she'd warned Matty about it earlier in the day. She was obviously wishing to avoid major blow-up on Matty's part.

But after blow-up, he could have practised lighting fires with nuthin'. He would have lost the challenge anyway (he actually had a fire going during the challenge when Bob's almost died, but didn't keep it going, which meant he didn't know the 1st thing about fire-fanning; if he'd kept it going, he would have won!).

He would have felt less sore at the end if he'd been warned about the intended tie ahead of time. I don't think he'd ever have voted for either Sugar or Bob, though. Even so.

I gave kudos to Sugar as well.

It was not a smart move and a classy move. It would not have changed anything for her if she kept Matty in, as he would have won. She left with the knowledge that she let both her "buds" be responsible for their own destiny.

I did get what Corrine said about not having to be around people she can't stomach. I can't get her standing by her statement about Sugar's dad dying. It was heartless. Apologizing for it after the fact would have been a classy thing to do.

Corrine is not a classy lady.

She is a beyotch. I would be ashamed to call her a friend.

If she does make it to a reunion show, let's have her be the first one out.

She had a Marilyn vibe to her - Lana Turnerish, Betty Grableish.

Stunning, if you ask me.

I am with you in that belief.

I am sure that after the being overwhelmed part and ther review that she gave him the chance to beat Mattie fair and square, he quietly wrote her a check.
