Did Jesse Jackson Jr. rat on Blaggo

#1 Post by themanintheseersuckersuit » Wed Dec 17, 2008 9:19 am

I hope, hope, hope this is true. I really want Obama to succeed. If Jackson was smart enough to keep clear of Gov. Rod, then surely Obama is too. And I hope that Obama kept himself apart from the corruption that is Chicago. Like Truman and Kansas City.

Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

You make me sound like some kind of pariah or something.

Everyone likes being around me. And if they don't, I have plenty of signed, cancelled checks stashed in my basement these nice people who put the bracelets on me might love to see....

Ha! You just committed a classic mistake found in all those chain e-mails about getting money from Microsoft for testing their e-mail forwarding system or whatever, where the writer claims to have gotten a huge payment and has the cancelled check to prove it.

No, when you deposit a check at a bank, they don't let you keep it! The cancelled check goes to the person who wrote it (if their bank even bothers with that at all these days).

I'm sure you preferred to deal in cash, anyway. :P
