Especially someone in particular.......

I think this would look good on someone's wall!

Squirrels are the architects of forests, the planters of trees, nature's own acrobats and show a zest for life that can inspire us. Every day should be National Squirrel Appreciation Day!

--squirrelmama (10/3/07)

Many of these (squirrel) migrations were probably caused by food shortages as well as habitat overcrowding. We solved that for them. We not only reduced their habitat, we reduced the whole species by about 90%. The least we can do now is share a little birdseed with them.

LOL, wait till someone sees this
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Wonderful! Why do I think this is Evil Squirrel's favorite painting so far?

SHRIEK!!!

ROFL!!!

ES, you're a genius. You're twisted, demented, devious, deranged, delusional, aberrant, abnormal, abominable, outrageous, preposterous, shameful, and shocking -- but a genius all the same.

P.S. That is especially exceptionally great work on the jersey.

You really can see how ES's technique has improved over the past year! :)

While it's a great honor being featured in one of his early works, the new ones look so much better! Would it be selfish to ask ES to revise one of his older paintings? After everyone else gets their turn to be portrayed, of course!

ES would love nothing more than to do the first 3 months worth of drawings over again. In fact, even the next 3 months worth of drawings aren't looking as hot anymore compared with the last 3 months worth of material.....

It has almost been a year since I started doing this. I haven't come close to doing as many portraits as I had hoped by now, but I am overly impressed with how much my style and technique have improved. There is still a lot poor ES has yet to learn though......

Thematically, there's nothing I'd want changed in my portrait; ES managed to perfectly capture the real me. 8)

But I do notice that ES used a lower resolution on my portrait, so my avatar is only a quarter of the size of yours, beast. That makes the details fuzzier.

The reason for that is that I had drawn 40 portraits before I finally figured out how to properly save my work in Paint without having the resolution crapping out on me and causing that smearing and fuzziness. I wasn't aware I could keep the pics in bmp form throughout the coloring process (Just hitting save automatically converts to jpg, which causes the nasty compression. But interestingly enough, when I convert the finished pics to jpg in the Windows picture viewer, the compression goffiness is minimal). I re-colored over about half of the older ones (I didn't get as far as yours before I started revealing them) but they still don't look as clean and crisp as the ones dated April or later....

Of all things, it was the first non-portrait pic I ever drew (a gift for vandal in late March) that caused me to realize the error of my ways....

This one should be titled "In Your Dreams!"

We don't need permission from each other. It's 70 degrees here, so we sure don't have a
need for the street cleaning machine. I'll make sure they send it your way. See how nice I am. :D :D

I think the problem with the Bored has been traced to some small animal gnawing through the power cord on one of the servers.

Yes, genius and ambivalance . . . I feel toward ES a bit like I do toward Bill Gates and Paul McCartney. I believe that they're geniuses, and I have absolutely no interest in meeting them. I would like to meet LB though. Is that ambivalent or schizo?

Marley says:

My portrait mentions the word "pee". Now, I believe it was generated while we were trying to help out contestants with the IM thingie (& maybe get enough points to get on the show) because it also mentions the acronym "IM". It has a figure representing my supervisor standing in the doorway looking bewildered while the racoon-y figure, which I guess is supposed to be me, mumbles about IMs & pee while typing.

My current supervisor could not be represented by that figure from the painting. We will not go in to the representational changes that would have to occur, for damage-control reasons.

I bet I did discuss pee during those waits for the IMs to come through; the lack of "windows of opportunity" for it were a major consideration. However, I am the only one whose portrait mentions it.

Also, back when I had the pointer to the portraits (which I can't find now), I noticed that some listers are bearish figures, some are skunkish figures, & I am racoonish. At least I think I am racoonish in the portrait. At 1st I wondered how lb knew I wore glasses. Which I do. Then I realized "those aren't glasses", & there are rings on the tail (I actually don't have a tail, but "artistic license" & all that) which makes the portrait a racoon, not a skunk. I think. I have no control over these portraits, however.

All in all, even it it was revised, it is unlikely that it would be prettier than current avatar prettykitty, though the current portrait offerred Sprots, under discussion here, certainly comes close.

If you haven't noticed by now, ES's artistic inspiration from the animal kingdom. He doesn't draw people....

And here is the guy who sat for your portrait, and you are the only one I've used it for.... John Cleese would be proud....

OK, I googled "ring-tailed" under Google's "images" & I guess its a lemur! But the lemurs I'd previously seen are, uh, cuter. I guess you get the lemur you got. Or something.

What's very scary is that Google looks to have maybe more images of Plastic Ring-Tailed Lemurs than Real Ring-Tailed Lemurs.
