Melo ties NBA record!
Forget Blago. This is the most important story of the day.
Last night, our own Carmelo Anthony scored 45 points in a 116-105 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves, including 33 points in just the third quarter. Only one other person in NBA history has scored 33 in one quarter... and it wasn't Jordan or Chamberlain. It was the Iceman, George Gervin, on April 9, 1978.
Interestingly enough, Melo broke the previous Nuggets franchise record of 32 in one quarter. That was achieved by Fanny's favorite, David Thompson... also on April 9, 1978.
And Melo did all of this with an injured right elbow.

Maybe he ought to injure it more often. But more importantly.....is that his real hair?
I believe in the usefulness of useless information.

Fanny was giving us updates in chat as it happened.
The Nuggets were getting stomped when she came in, and went on a run after I let Adorable ES take over my place. He is their good luck squirrel.....

And the funny part is that he missed a free throw early on in the quarter.
That was one crazy quarter of basketball to watch. Carmelo looked like he was in one of those Bird/Jordan "Nothing But Net" commercials c. early 90's.

And I didn't have to pay off a governor to get those records, either!NellyLunatic1980 wrote:Forget Blago. This is the most important story of the day.

That was extremely way fun, to get the updates. CBS Sportsline is pretty good, but the lag was maddening.littlebeast13 wrote:Fanny was giving us updates in chat as it happened.

This was 9News's lead sports story last night and even Podunkville RadioDude's this morning.
ES gets no credit for any of it.

Or ES's, whose life expectancy gets shorter every time he brings it up . . .
