Naperville will be one of about 200 communities in the U.S. that will be participating that day in Merry TubaChristmas, an annual event honoring the late tubist William Bell. First performed in 1974 in New York City's Rockefeller Plaza, every TubaChristmas performance features traditional Christmas carols performed exclusively by tuba and euphonium players of all ages. Naperville began participating in 1982, according to Ron Keller, coordinator of Naperville's event. In 2007, approximately 60 musicians participated in the Naperville event.
If you play the tuba or euphonium and want to be part of a special Christmas musical experience, Merry TubaChristmas is calling. Adult, college, high school and junior high tuba and euphonium players are invited to participate in Naperville's 26th annual Merry TubaChristmas on Dec. 13.

Re: TubaChristmas info for Tubadave
Now there's a flashback to Dave's October 2000 QoD!
And though I forgot it, as soon as I heard the name William Bell, it rang.... well, a bell as being one of the answers to that QoD!
Two things I learned about from Dave's QoD.... TubaChristmas, and the IgNobel Prizes.....
