Nelly's Golden Moldies #3

#1 Post by NellyLunatic1980 » Wed Dec 10, 2008 6:39 pm

The following was the biggest hit from a Grammy-winning 1977 album. Name the artist and the album.

I've seen your picture
Your name in lights above it
This is your big debut
It's like a dream come true
And when you smile for the camera,
I know they're gonna love it

I like your pin shot
I keep them with your letters
Done up in blueprint blue
It sure looks good on you
So won't you smile for the camera?
You know I'll love you better

Peg... it will come back to you
Peg... it will come back to you
Then... the shutter falls
You see it all in 3-D
It's your favorite foreign movie

I like your pin shot
I keep them with your letters
Done up in blueprint blue
It sure looks good on you
So won't you smile for the camera?
You know I'll love you better

Peg... it will come back to you
Peg... it will come back to you
Then... the shutter falls
You see it all in 3-D
It's your favorite foreign movie

Album???? I"m lucky to know that it's
Spoiler
Steely Dan
! I only know the name of one of their albums, so I'll guess
Spoiler
Aja
.

What's a "pin shot"? I never knew exactly what that line was, I always thought they were just mispronouncing "picture", because they were pretentious like that.

I think it's on
A rare LS question within my sphere of competence
Aja by Steely Dan.

Fanny and Bob-o'-numbers are both correct.

I always thought it was picture also.

The stuff you learn around here . . .
-- In Iroquois society, leaders are encouraged to remember seven generations in the past and consider seven generations in the future when making decisions that affect the people.
-- America would be a better place if leaders would do more long-term thinking. -- Wilma Mankiller

I think a pin shot might just be a small picture that can be worn as a pin on clothing.

I love the song, but always thought they were saying Kay (Yes, Kay!) instead of Peg....

And until I missed it in an LS a few years ago, I thought the name of the song was Favorite Foreign Movie. I think that's a better title anyway.....

Perhaps "pinup" as in "pinup picture" ala Betty Grable??
