Congratulations! I played like number 2 tonight, not knowing the author of a 1950 book.

Dreadful month so far after a miraculous "page 1" finish for November. Today's movie and tv question -- answered correctly by 0.0% -- did not help.

Nobody got it right?! How is that statistically possible?! I would think that out of the thousands of people who make a complete guess on a question, about 20% would guess the right answer.

I was dished out a 19%'er this morning, to go along with the 5% correct question I got a few days ago.....

This month is completely shot to hell.....

I've missed four in a row. :x

Today is was the first vocabulary question I've ever missed, asking what a small crude lamp was called. The five choices all sounded like possibilities.

The previous two days were book questions where I had never heard of the books and authors.

There was an obscure music question before that.

<sigh>

Gov. Rod fixed it so I get all the easy questions.

Congress voted to bail me out of the hard questions

Y'all don't have a phone a friend button on your Sploofus?

(I'm gonna pay for this tomorrow for sure.)
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

And where did the money for that come from?

Ok, so there's the money to "pay for play".

Sir, what is on my Sploofus is none of your business.

Enough already. It's my fault! Get over it!

That'll be $10, please.

Nobody got it right?! How is that statistically possible?! I would think that out of the thousands of people who make a complete guess on a question, about 20% would guess the right answer.
0.0% seemed strange to me, too. Perhaps it was a new question and I was the first to answer it? It was an Oscar question so I would think many of the "Elites" would know it, but I was almost as surprised by the answer as I was by the percentage.

Perhaps sploofus felt sorry for me, though. Got another movie and tv q today. 89.6% (including me this time) nailed it.

I'm really not sure how this thing works, but on the top of the page it says, "104,896 pts., Level 7.6, Wager Tokens: 5"

I'm listed on Sploofus as one word, Secondchance. I'd rather have my bored name be one word like that, but I messed up when I registered. I suppose it's too late to change it now.... ?

My run of luck ran out with the Music and Musicians questions. Got a "which one of these songs was NOT on [album name]?" yesterday. Success rate was just slightly above random. I did not add to it.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.
