A joke

#1 Post by Ritterskoop » Mon Dec 08, 2008 3:36 pm

Likely this has been told here but I don't recall it. I had lunch with a retired coworker friend and he told it to me and I loved it.

So this guy is driving his pickup truck with two cages in the back with chimpanzees, on his way to deliver them to the zoo.

Something goes wrong with the truck, and he pulls over to look at it. A blonde lady stop to ask if he needs help. He say, "Well, I can probably fix the truck, but it might take an hour or two. Can you take the chimpanzees to the zoo for me?"

She says certainly, and they load them into her car and off she goes.

Two hours later he's downtown, heading for the zoo to finish his work, and he sees the lady skipping down the sidewalk hand-in-hand with the chimps.

Horrified, he stops the truck and gets out and asks her, "Weren't you going to take these chimps to the zoo for me?"

She says, "Oh, we've already been to the zoo. Now we're going to the aquarium!"

I heard it first with penguins -- "and now we're going to the beach" -- but it always makes me laugh.

This is evidence that a good joke transcends geography and species.
