Quiet Riot

#1 Post by WheresFanny » Thu Dec 04, 2008 2:55 pm

So Vh1 Classic (see, I do watch television stations other than Vh1! Ha!) is doing a week of OHW shows. Ladies, Rap, etc. I'm watching the Metal hour now and they have already had Twisted Sister, White Lion and Quiet Riot. They weren't OHW! What's up with that?

Anyway, it reminded me. DId they ever find out what caused Kevin Dubrow's death? At the time it was unknown and I don't think I ever saw any update on that.

Yet another acronym that I'm embarrassed to have had to look up.

Ooops. Sorry. Since I always have a couple of OHW days in any LS or QOD game I do, I just use it without thinking.

One Hit Wonders

I couldn't agree with you more on QR and TS not being OHW's (I only know one White Lion song, so I can't comment on them)....

Was he the guy who died way back in the day? I remember Cum on Feel the Noiz was #7 on our radio station's 1983 year end countdown (I was 8 years old and it's the first of many countdowns I remember), adn the deejay happened to mention the Quiet Riot guy dying sometime during the year before he played the song....

I guess it helps we tape recorded it. The best thing my Dad ever got (Besides the VCR in 1987) was the boom box with the tape recorder on it that year. The first song we ever recorded off the radio on it is one that NEVER gets played anymore.....

Spoiler
Loverboy's "Strike Zone".... one of my huge favorites as a kid......

That was Randy Rhoads. He was a member of QR and also either Ozzy's band or Black Sabbath. He was dead before QR hit it big. Kevin DuBrow died pretty recently.

Were these the same programs as the "Behind the Music" segments they used to show? I still have a bunch of these on tape (remember when we used to use tape?).

He was with Ozzy post-Sabbath. I'm thinking he was the one that died in a plane crash caused by the pilot buzzing the tour bus for gags.
