So will the Kay's birthday thread be longer that the Parade thread?
Suitguy is not bitter.
feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive
The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Re: Is it kay's birthday yet?
My 4th grade teacher was a man. We didn't get along. Then he switched grades and I had him for sixth grade, too! A few years after that, he was committed to a mental institution. I'm not kidding! My dad said that second year with me was what did it. Ha!littlebeast13 wrote:Holy crap! Did we have the same fourth grade teacher?WheresFanny wrote:Is he left or right handed?minimetoo26 wrote: Rain Man holds his pencil wrong and makes his letters go top to bottom rather than bottom to top, and the OT was working on correcting that, until we realized that we were trying to fix something that was merely different and not wrong. The ends justify the means with him. It's not the way everyone else does it, but the letters end up looking just like the charts. Just perfect.
There's so much about him that is different, but better!
When I positioned my paper like we were supposed to, I wrote with a backslant. And my fourth grade teacher had some grudge against them, so every paper handed in with a backslant was given an immediate zero. I can't hook my hand like most lefthanders (there's a theory about hook writers and brain dominance, so that might be part of the reason he starts in a different place) to pull the pencil instead of pushing it. So, necessity being the mother of invention, I just started writing sideways.
It helps in calligraphy, though, since that's more like drawing lines than writing.
The only F I EVER got on a report card was in Science in 4th grade. We did like 2 science assignments that quarter, and I got a bad grade on them because my handwriting sucked......
Me, and Sisters #2 & 4 all had trouble with that bitch. The other 2 got the easy 4th grade teacher. Not that I hold a grudge or anything.....

Well, since it's gonna be bronzed, I gotta be in it.littlebeast13 wrote:minimetoo26 wrote:Well, I reached my goal of getting all "Kay" threads up to 6 pages of randomness! You can't get much more random than we did today, that's for sure!
We will have to have this thread bronzed....
Or better yet, we'll have Kay write it out in her beautiful penmanship and have Clem mimeograph it so each of us can have a copy for posterity.....![]()
Damn, it's way past my bedtime....

Wow, you all have been busy while I've been entertaining! Maybe this will be the
longest thread on the new bored.
I have to run some errands and will catch up when I get back home.

23.14 carat, from Harry Winston:
Kinda gaudy for my tastes....
My ring size is 4 1/2...I think this may be a bit too large to look good.
