Re: Happy birthday, Flybrick
First, a very belated thank you for all the well wishes.
45. Who could've imagined it.
Hair not growing like it should in appropriate places.
Hair growing like it should not in inappropriate places or being white.
While I'm grateful to have another birthday, I've had better.
Daughter is dancing in the local ballet of "The Nutcracker."
Spent the Sunday, 23 November loading, unloading, setting up the stage. 9 hours of manual labor that I've not done in years.
Sunday, the 30th (B-day). Last show of the run. Wife is down with pneumonia. Taking care of her.
Had to fill in for her shift of selling crap, er, I mean performance trinkets to raise money for the local ballet company.
Then was on the tear down/store away crew.
Immediately following the performance, we started tearing down. This is actually a pretty decent production with extensive sets, props, etc. Started at 6:30 pm. Finished about 1030pm. It was cold (32-ish degrees). It was raining.
I love my daughter. I'm not so wild about ballet.
Will undoubtedly do it again next year.
No birthday celebration for me. A little pity party, but there are many much worse off. I think of the guys/gals overseas and I dry my eyes.
Again, my thanks for the wishes.
v/r,
Brick

Brick,
There is something about knowing you are throwing your own pity party that makes the pity party not so pitiful.
Sorry this birthday lacked real celebration. Happy that you had the birthday.

Absolutely right.
Just the fact that I had the birthday is a good thing for which I am appreciative.

I'm sorry I missed wishing you a Happy Birthday! And sorry it wasn't so happy.
What a difference 10 weeks makes, huh?
(I shall turn 45 myself 10 weeks after Flybrick did, and he comes across as considerably more mature than I do. But just about everyone besides Britney and the like do as well, so that isn't saying much................)
