A surprising, lovely video
Here's an animal video that left tears running down my cheeks, in spite of the fact I was smiling:

Is there anyone who isn't annoyed by Whitney Houston?
Especially THAT song.....
Nice video though. I can picture Sprots doing that when ES comes over to visit....

It's heartwarming. Then again, it bothers me how they knew it wouldn't attack? I would have been petrified
at the sight of it running straight at me. Maybe there's more to the story - like how they knew this was the one they
were looking for.
Not trying to spoil the moment, but it is a wild animal.

This one makes me smile. I know, I know, upsetting the balance of nature and all that. I still smile every time I watch it.

I would have been afraid one of the whales would try to come up on the boat to get to the penguin and swamp us. I would have pushed him (the penguin) back in the water. Survival of self, and all that.SportsFan68 wrote:This one makes me smile. I know, I know, upsetting the balance of nature and all that. I still smile every time I watch it.

..what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? let them take arms.

I had seen the ending of that but not the beginning. Very nice.

That's a fantastic song.
Or would be, if Whitney had never gotten near it. Now I have to go listen to Dolly Parton for a while. Which is never a bad thing.

My kitty-cat would do that for about 10 seconds, then he'd go into bite-&-claw mode. Except he is just a kitty-cat, so his victims so far have survived. So I guess I should be jealous, except that I keep thinking of the Born Free lady clawed to death by her pet lion, & think these people should thank their lucky stars & not try it again.
Sorry for being such a cynic or whatever & all.

Re: A surprising, lovely video
I wandered by snopes to see if the video had been authenticated - I didn't want to have my heart broken and find out it was a fake.
They do have a page on it, which says it is true. This Daily Mail article is the basis for their authentication:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/artic ... -room.html
It is not all sweetness and light (the Circle of Life claims a few victims), but it seems to substantiate the basic story.
George Adamson is mentioned.

Thank you for that article link, Miss Ritters. I noticed this part of the story:Ritterskoop wrote:I wandered by snopes to see if the video had been authenticated - I didn't want to have my heart broken and find out it was a fake.

I don't see why this is such a mystery to two-footers. I know all about it. It's called "thinking pictures into eyelids." When I get some time, I will write a scientific paper about it. I guess I'd better find some footnotes, so other scientists will know it's sciency."Christian arrived last night, " he said simply. "He's here with his lionesses and his cubs. He's outside the camp on his favourite rock. He's waiting for you."
Adamson and his wife Joy often talked about the mysterious, apparently telepathic communication skills of lions - particularly between lions and men.
Both believed that lions were possessed of a sixth sense and George was convinced that a scientific explanation would one day be found.

My kitty cat and I do not need silly sciency proof. We know what each other is thinking.AnnieCamaro wrote:
