A hmmmm moment

#1 Post by a1mamacat » Tue Nov 25, 2008 10:59 pm

watched a "Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" tonight.

The end of the show has Snoopy and Woodstock chowing down on the Turkey.

Seemed a little cannibalistic of Woodstock, to me

I love it when people's internal thoughts get put on external.

Birds eat other birds all the time. Our local paper had a photo of a hawk which had caught and was eating a pigeon right in view of the photographer, who grabbed the opportunity to capture nature in action.

Woodstock's a lot cuter than any turkey.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

Excuse me, but I believe the parade is over there [pointing]. Check with The Parade Coordinator to find out where your spot is.

It is a good question, though.

How close does the taxonomic relationship have to be to consider it cannibalism?

I guess the strict definition is eating a member of the same species.

Do we know what species Woodstock is?

Snoopy once guessed crow, American bittern, Caroline wren, rufous-sided towhee, yellow-billed cuckoo, Canada goose, warbler, and a mourning warbler. And made a joke about Woodstock being a duck. None of those were correct.

I'm pretty sure that Woodstock is not in the same family or genus as the domestic turkey but he could be in the order Galliformes, with some of the other game birds.
No matter where you go, there you are.
