Do the girls have school all week? Some of our schools got the
whole week off, others just Wednesday - Friday.

Are you cooking Thanksgiving dinner? Can you believe I'm baking my first
turkey ever? Always had someone else doing the cooking or we went out.....guess it's never
too late to learn. I'm hoping for the best.

Nope, just talking to myself as LB would put it. I have lots of ground to make
up in our posting contest...he was quite verbose while I was traveling to NYC. I swear I haven't
had a drop of alcohol.

You cooking for the whole family on Thursday?

He's home. Maddie was one of 19 students in the Sophomore class inducted into the National Honor Society. She was given a lit candle to symbolism her love of learning. It was scary watching her with an open flame.

Maddie's Quiz Bowl school, Edison, has the week off, but both of the girls only have Thursday and Friday off this week.

We are hosting Thanksgiving, but Jeff is making the turkey. He does a really good job, putting rosemary and garlic under the skin while it's cooking.

Tiger's response was that it was a "mutual decision."

Congratulations to Miss Maddie! She's really something. Is it Madelyn, or Madison? Or something else...

Yep, Alton Brown cooks his that way. Christie and I were talking earlier about whether
to brine the turkey. She does and everything I've read said it really make it moist.

I bought a new coat last night before all of the excitement, but I can't find it on the Macy's web site.

I didn't buy and extra turkey, so Emma will not be making "Turkey in the Toilet."

Ryan has only Thursday and Friday off this year. They usually have Wednesdays off too, so he's not a happy camper.

Maybe you can find it by the brand name. Other stores may carry it as well.

It's their INC brand, so I don't think that any other store has it. I am still looking for it online.

We have some New Zealanders coming to our house for Thanksgiving. Emma thought that it would be funny to put a Turkey in the toilet downstairs and have them believe that American Turkeys are "cured" in the toilet before cooking.

I'm sure the National Honor Society will also have a spot for those with unusual imaginative humor capabilities...

Emma has a wonderful sense of humor. Are these guests relatives?
I'm just being nosy. :)

Jeff's little brother is also a doctor / professor, but he is more of a professor than a doctor. Anyway, he was in New Zealand doing some sort of foreign professor exchange and stayed at another professor's house for a month and teaching. The professor from New Zealand and his family are doing the same sort of thing in reverse during the month of November.
