Help a little girl, and homeless people, as well

#1 Post by Im_Ace » Thu Nov 20, 2008 7:33 am

My twin daughter's best friend has entered a contest presented by "Chicken of the Sea". She made a "jingle video" and has become 1 of three finalists from GA. Voting is currently being done to select a winner. Voting lasts until Dec. 9. Each email address can vote 3 times each day. The winner wins a trip to Universal Studios in Hollywood AND the community food bank in the area of the winner receives $100,000.00 in seafood from Chicken of the Sea.

Below is the link to see her video and to vote. She is currently in second place, for GA, fairly far behind first place. It will take an army of voters to help push her over the top.

Thanks for you help.

Cute.

Good news is she is #6 in the whole country. Bad news is for Georgia she is #3, and the top two are also #1 and #2 among all states!

Good Luck!

We needs lots and lots of help.

Here's an email that she wrote to the people at her school. Her uncle, 45 years old, suffered a stroke last week:

" I entered a contest called The Mermaid Jingle Jam. I had to make a commercial for Chicken of The Sea tuna. Well, guess what, I am a finalist. Now my video is on the internet and I need to get lots of people to vote for me. If I win I can donate a truck filled with tuna to the food bank in Atlanta.

My mom is very busy because my uncle in Pittsburgh is really sick. She told me that if I wrote you that maybe Epstein would help vote for me. It would be really nice and exciting if everyone helped me win. They just need to go to this website and vote by putting in their email, but their e-mail stays private. They can vote three times every day until December 9. Most of my family is worried about my uncle so I can’t get them to vote right now. Maybe you could help me. I think everyone will want to vote because it can help a charity. This is the link to vote for me.

There is one thing please say not to talk to me about it a lot because I get embarrassed."

Thanks again for your help.

Something is off about this today.

First of all, they have added that thingie so you don't have a machine do the voting - fine. I have patience.

Then, I vote 2 times and they tell me I voted 3 times already today.

Then, I use my next e-mail address and the total doesn't get bigger and they tell me after voting once, that I voted 3 times today.

The contest must be held in Ohio!

BIF
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

She is still in third.
