Al-Qaida Insults Obama

#1 Post by danielh41 » Wed Nov 19, 2008 8:58 am

Al-Qaida issued a video today using racial insults aimed at the president-elect. The theory is that they will attempt some sort of attack right after Obama takes office. They tried to take down the World Trade Center in 1993, a little over a month after Clinton took office. 9-11 happened within the first 8 months of Bush's presidency. Hopefully, our military intelligence will be able to thawart whatever they have planned.

Yes. And I want to see what Obama, Pelosi and Reid will do about it. I can just hear it now.

"Why don't we just sit down and talk about this. Oh, you want to kill us all? Maybe we can just talk this over."
"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing" - Edmund Burke

Perhaps the Hokey Pokey IS what it's all about...

I don't want to see what they will do, I don't want it to happen.
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

And it would happen no matter who won the election. Eight years from 2001 (the planning time between the first WTC attack and the second) is next year. Let's hope our intel community really has been as good as the current administration thinks it is (while straining a clavicle patting themselves on the back for no attacks on the U.S. since 2001).
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

I know that Obama will be capable of reading and comprehending a Presidential Daily Briefing.

I'm sure that President Bush is, too. It's what's in those briefings that's problematic. All the intel data has to go through so many filters and personal biases before it reaches that stage. How many "unimportant" memos turned up after 9/11 predicting the attack in one form or another, some frighteningly accurate? It's not what you know, it's what you don't know you don't know that will get you.
