Thanks again for the opportunity to clarify, much appreciated.starfish1113 wrote: Pea and I read it the same way, I think. From my point of view, though, I took it as a partisan swipe that wasn't necessary. You hate Bush. I get it. The truth is, we have no idea how Obama - or anybody else - will react when first hearing about a crisis of the magnitude of 9/11. And Biden at his best? Has he become a superhero?
I did not mean it as a partisan swipe, Fishie. You are correct, I did mean it as an "I hate Bush" swipe.
Bush is "someone who seems to take everything as a joke, including sending young Americans to die in Iraq for no reason (remember W's hilarious "where are those WMDs?" skit for the National Press Club???) . . . " http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/talk/b ... miltonian/ That's the best source I could find, I couldn't google up the news reports of numerous press club members who reported on it at the time.
I am confident that millions of people, Republicans included, were as appalled as I was, but it was quickly brushed off as a misunderstanding. "He didn't really mean to make fun of the reason he sent more than 800 U.S. troops to their deaths." Sure he did, and I've hated him ever since. Anything I say about Bush, it's not partisan, it's personal.
As for the Biden at his best remark, please see the explanation above. I regret saying something so out of context, and thanks again for the opportunity to clarify.
