Kids say the darndest things....
So we are having a discussion about the lack of effort in schoolwork.
I comment on the fact that I never see any homework etc.
He say " Mom, what do you think I'm doing at midnight in my room with the door closed"

I am a mean mother. He is not allowed to have any electronics in his room. Only books. Paper books. The old fashioned kind.
The TV, computer and video games are all in the living room. The computer can be seen from anypoint in the room, and kitchen.

Saucy, you probably don't want to listen to this, either, but Jeff and PSM use "sploofusing" as a code word for something else.a1mamacat wrote:PlacentiaSoccerMom wrote:Is he Sploofusing?![]()

Or, at least, their daughters think they do, and react with an "Ewwwwww!"

So you tell him that he is to have his homework done by 9:00 pm, so you can review, and he says what?
At midnight, I would hope that he is sleeping.
(Of course, I have a night owl son, so I can only imagine the trouble that we will have when he is a teen.

My co-worker (who also raised a boy) suggested it would be amusing to knock on the bathroom door, and say "So, hows the homework going?"Appa23 wrote:LOL!a1mamacat wrote:So we are having a discussion about the lack of effort in schoolwork.

As far as I am concerned, I would must rather have my kids "doing homework" all day than having sex. There is much less risk of STDs and pregnancy.a1mamacat wrote:My co-worker (who also raised a boy) suggested it would be amusing to knock on the bathroom door, and say "So, hows the homework going?"Appa23 wrote:LOL!a1mamacat wrote:So we are having a discussion about the lack of effort in schoolwork.

Plus he could be doing homework! I work better at night, I used to nap after school and stay up late watching tv and doing homework.
