Blast from the past

#1 Post by cindy.wellman » Sun Nov 16, 2008 6:06 pm

Watersprinkler came up on my Facebook when I did a "people you may know" search last month. It would appear that she just approved my friend request yesterday! YAY I'm headed back to say howdy to her.

Watch out, Clem! There's a bunch of us over there, and if you don't behave, we'll tell!

I posted a link on her wall and then sent friend recommendations to people from this group who know her.

Yes Clem, even oldies use Facebook.

If you find me over there, send a friend request and I'll add you. I think I'm under Lucinda, rather than Cindy.

If humans use Facebook, I think most dogs would use Buttbook.

I saw Sprinks on Millionaire reruns not too long ago. She was on the same show as VADame - Mary. I was wondering how she was doing. She was a lot of fun in Vegas. Wonder what she's doing now.

Yeah, sure, you're the only person left in the world who is not on Facebook. Just like you're the only person in left in the world who hasn't been to Disneyland or Hawaii.

Why would I need one of those other social networking sites, when I've got the Bored? 8)

Perhaps this will make you feel better......

You are most likely the only person left in the world that scores baseball games with a paper and pencil. Since I stopped doing so years ago (yeah, yeah, I know you know exactly how many years ago, ha!)

You also might be the only person left in the world that still drives a Neon, but I"m not sure on that one.

Now those two things I know I'm not alone at. You still see a lot of people keeping score in the stands at Busch Stadium (Not so many in the other parks I've been to), and I still see a ton of 90's Neons on the road, including many blues ones exactly like mine....

I wonder if anyone else keeps track of the post counts of everyone on the Bored they frequent....?

Hey, I was just trying to make you feel better!

It seems like on almost every message board there's some BFD about post counts. Only they have special tiers rather than a list. It's so damned annoying with people doing nothing but posting "I agree!" messages. Which is generally frowned upon, but dumb moderators don't seem to understand that they could put a stop to all that just by taking away the tiers and stars and whatnot associated with number of posts in the first place.

There is a guy on Where's George who has (or at least had when I checked a few years ago) a link in his profile to a list of members of their online community who had the most lines in the chat room. Holy crap, even I would not go to those lengths!

Their message board is exactly what I hope this place never becomes, and the reason I fought so damn hard for One Forum For All Posts and complete freedom of speech. They are so anal I quit hanging around there a long time ago....

I have a good friend who still scores games that way. He buys a program and very neatly does all the entries. He's tried to show me how to do it and when I go to a game I try to do it also.

lb13[/quote] I've seen a lot of this at Yankee Stadium as well, particularly among the Bleacher Creatures.

Tell Stephen to go outside and be social, it's better for him.

Plus he'll know more people so in a year when he gets a car he can easily pick up girls :)
