Why is it

#1 Post by kayrharris » Sat Nov 15, 2008 10:45 am

I have a room full of toys for Chapman to play with and he's having great fun
with the 3 round candles I have next to the fireplace for decoration?

Because that's what the little buggers do. It's coded from birth. Applies to animals, too. I hope he doesn't eat the candles, although it wouldn't be much different than those wax lips we used to have.
Well, then

For exactly the same reason that Lizbit is ignoring her new toy piano and jumping hoop while she sits on my feet on the floor and happily chews the cardboard tube from a roll of toilet paper.

I don't have any soft little round balls for him to play with.
I may get him one, although I'm sure the candles will be much more attractive.

Natalie and James came to watch the game. Chapman is still awake.

LB is 58 posts ahead of me. I try to keep even, but it's a losing battle, especially
if Mini shows up!

Now why you'd want it is another thing.

Because there are no electrical outlets to stick his fingers in, there's no broken glass to chew on, and there are no plastic bags to put over his head.

I have a shelf in my kitchen that goes to the floor. I have pretty decorative cups
and saucers on it. That's the first place he goes when I put him down. They are now in a nice
high spot.

Stop number two, after the bookshelf, is the stairs. I can't take my eyes off
of him for a second.

It's the same reason that Nina ignores all the cool toys on her fancy schmancy mat and goes for the tags hanging off the edge instead. I intended to cut them off, but they're her favorite part.

Nina's first stop when she hits the floor is the glass and cast iron coffee table. Second stop is the hard tile step in front of the fireplace. Our living room is now a mountain of pillows. Architectural Digest it is not, but the padded room comes in handy when mom is a wee bit insane by the end of the day, though.

We could talk about my diet. It's 5PM here and all I've eaten today is celery.
I'm not all that hungry, but I may be about midnight!

All the kids decided to cook here tonight. They're at the store now.
We're going to chicken on the grill, but the killer will be the corn casserole my son is
bringing and James is making a combination of sweet potatoes and new potatoes
baked with olive oil. I'm hoping I can eat the chicken and salad and be happy.

Things are going well. The invitations are in and one of our friends who
does calligraphy has offered to address them as her wedding gift. It was going to run me
about $400, so that is a big help!
