Having perused Wiki and elsewhere for a bit, here is a good one:
Where was the Rose Bowl played on Jan 1, 1942?

Spoiler
DadofTwins has it. For fear that playing in Pasadena might not be safe, four weeks after the attack at Pearl Harbor. I will spoiler this, in case there are any other contributions to the thread.

One of few bowls for Duke. They have the slimmest hope of a bowl this season (they have to win out, which seems unlikely).

And Oregon State wins it's only "Rose Bowl". If they win out this season they will play in the 2009 Rose Bowl. And then maybe (just maybe), USC can play someplace other than Pasadena or Miami.
I believe in the usefulness of useless information.

Oregon State: A team that hasn't won for years in a university I've never visited from a town I've never even heard of.
Maybe a great team to root for.
