Back from my excursion to the first floor vending machines. No Cheetos in the machine today.

In the lobby there are 8 elevators. When I hit the up button six of them dinged and the doors sprang open.

This place is deserted.

Make sure you don't see any twins wandering around. Or a kid riding a tricycle. Or look in any bathtubs.
Well, then

LB cheated using a 1/2 person. None is closer if you ask me. 8)

I guessed 1 visitor and 2 phone calls. Even if the two phone calls don't come, I'm still closest regarding the walk-ins.

Hmmmm. I did say "Predict how many people will enter the library or call on the phone...". On one hand 1 visitor is correct (so far) but the phone call part is way off. I didn't really think of this as a two part question. I'll have to think about that if I don't get any phone calls.

The 1/2 person by lb is skirting the rules especially since he seemed to imply that the 1/2 person was non-human.

The UPS man just showed up so the new count is 2.

Tocqueville takes the lead.

Let me know if I win.
Sure, go for the obvious.

4 minutes to go. I'm going to call the game for Tocqueville with an exact guess of 2.

Excellent guess! You get all the points and the commemorative traveling trophy.

As soon as we get a traveling trophy.

It looks like I will be working the day after Thanksgiving but it is unclear at this point if the courthouse will be closed or not. The courthouse will be closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day but we don't have to staff the library on those days. December 26 and January 2 will probably be administrative days where bosses can give people the day off without using a personal day but the courthouse will probably be open so we'll probably treat those like normal work days.

After that Martin Luther King Day or George Washington's Birthday would be the next possibilities. We typically rotate skeleton days so I might not get another one of these until next fall.
