Does your bank do this?

#1 Post by nitrah55 » Mon Nov 10, 2008 12:18 pm

I went to my bank to deposit some checks at the ATM.

The ATM now does not require either an envelope or deposit slips.

I endorsed one check and fed it to the ATM. On the ATM screen popped a picture of the check, and the ATM asked. "The amount of this check is $x.xx. Is this correct?" I hit the "Yes" button, and repeated the process for the next check.

Wowie zowie.
I am about 25% sure of this.

Mine does. I was very impressed the first time too. No, who am I kidding. It's still cool.

I have never in my life put money into an ATM! I may just have to try it someday to see that though

I went to a Northern California branch of my bank and an envelope was not required, but the Southern California Branches still required them.

Yeah, but that would be a long commute, just to save an envelope.

My only problem with them is they seem to be really temperamental about accepting cash. I'm a server at a sushi restaurant. I pretty much only ever have cash to deposit. I wind up just carrying around loads of cash.

Please don't mug me know that you all know that.

Don't worry, we're not a violent sort. We'll just wait until 30 days after your appearance, and send you e-mail about a long-lost, recently deceased relative who lefts you millions of dollars, and all we need is a little cash up front to handle expenses...
Enough already. It's my fault! Get over it!

That'll be $10, please.

I dont know. I always go through the drive-thru. I don't deposit that much anyway.

I would never deposit cash in an ATM. I just don't trust it. I'd rather see someone tell me, "I counted $120", when I thought/know I put in $140.

Bank of America started doing this about a year ago as far as I noticed. Pretty freaking cool! I really like BofA, but there are no branches where I live now.

Oh crap -- you're not
HER, are you

??? :P
She was texting as she was driving around.....claiming to be looking for a Bank of America (which we don't have here.) Then, she had the nerve to pick my bank for her little publicity stunt.

(Edited to fix the spoiler -- maybe THIS one works; couldn't do it from work!)

Don't think I've had many bills show up in Oregon though....

I remember those days! It was a pain having to go when the bank was open so you could hand the cash to a real live teller in order to write the rent check. Now I rarely see cash unless it's allowance time for my kids.

You get immune to it after a while. You see a big pile of cash and realize it wouldn't be worth stealing because it wouldn't cover even a month's worth of expenses, and you'd be out of a job and umemployable when it ran out....
