Zap, now in Technicolor!

#1 Post by PlacentiaSoccerMom » Fri Nov 07, 2008 11:44 am

Here is Zap with the blanket that his Auntie Ellen made for him. He stole the bear from Maddie. (He loves the color purple for some reason.)

Forget about protecting chickens - California needs a law to protect pups from Halloween costumes!

Nice pictures, btw - I'm glad you are gving such a good home to a former race dog.

Yesterday I had to sort 2,000 raffle tickets for Emma's Middle School Marching Band. (Yes, I took the Ways and Means Job.) Each child needed ten raffle tickets with a letter placed in an envelope with their name on the front, organized alphabetically by class.

Zap was on the bed for a long time, Lucy decided to take a nap as well. They both woke up when I started taking pictures.

I wish I could have seen this before I worked on Annie's costume. Maybe I could've made it a little more form fitting and less extra work for SC.

Very nice compliment to his coloring.

I bought Zap's costume at Target. I got a "large" for him. The headpiece was too big, so I took it in. (The costume was $10, but it gave me a starting point.)

He was supposed to be able to put his arms through sleeves, but I tucked them into the costume instead. (He has massive muscles at the top of his arms and there is no way his arms would ever fit through them.)

The costume had velcro closures, but wouldn't fit around his chest, so I bought some of the black fuzzy fabric and made long velcroed straps as extenders. (I didn't want the costume to go completely around his body because he pees in a messy manner.)

Great pictures, PSM! Thanks for sharing them.

It's good to see that Zap and the cats are no longer just tolerating each other, but actually hanging out together!

And I guess none of the other pictures I've seen of Jasper had anything in it to judge his size; seeing him on top of that table, he looks a lot bigger than I imagined!

Just remember that the camera adds twenty pounds. :)

Here are some random children posing with my beloved dog. You can also see Jeff's pumpkins.

Wow, nice job, Jeff!
The girls are adorable, too!

McCall, my little 12 year old and her best friend went as peanut butter and jelly.
I wish I had a photo. McCall wore purple had the Smuckers label on her shirt and Bailee
wore born with the Jif label on her shirt. They had hats that looked like the tops of the jars.
It was so freaking adorable! I feel sure there's a photo on someone's camera and I'll get them to
send it to me.

Those random children are getting big!

I can't get over how much Jasper looks like Merv.

Merv just tried to escape. I foiled his plan.
Well, then

Oh, adorable -- Zap's costume makes him look like a Steelers Fan!

Is the Kitty Pumpkin Joe Biden?

Yes, we called that pumpkin Joe Biden all night. Jeff was going to carve a Biden, but Emma got to it first.

Very nice -- did they use templates, or do it freehand?

I only did one pumpkin this year -- the Barack-O-Lantern. He's still on the porch, but his face is pretty much wilting away now, & he will have to go out w/ the next trash pickup! I would have put it out Monday night (last week's pickup) but didn't want to jinx the election -- apparently my strategy worked

Your pumpkins are pretty.

Jeff and Emma both used templates.

This is one of the scariest-looking pumpkin pictures I've seen.
I don't think the artist used a template on this one.
The spoiler is creating a lot of extra space for some reason.

When I took Zap to Hemopet for Bubble Bath Day today, I aked if i could weigh him using their scale. I worry about Zap because he doesn't regularly eat all of his breakfast. When I took Zap to the Vet, two days after I adopted him, he weighed 65 pounds and he left Hemopet weighing 69 pounds, which I was told, was his perfect weight.

My friend Ellen thought that he looked like he had lost some weight, last week, so I have been worried about him.

Today, at Hemopet, he weighed 69.8 pounds, so I am happy.
