Happy Birthday to you! I promise not to hijack your thread!

I'm baking a cake with Funfetti frosting later, but you have to share with Mini-me...

Thank you, all. It was a routine day, nothing special. Spent the day at work and the evening waiting for a roofing contractor who never showed up. We have at least one leak and need the whole surface redone. Just call me Mr. Excitement.

Since I have now reached the numerical age at which my eldest sister suddenly died of a heart attack (with no warning and no reason which could be determined after), I'll be having that in the back of my mind for the next year. My other sister (between the two of us in age) did the same. She's still around, though, so it won't be as major a concern as it could be. It's just a number, after all. If we had eight fingers, I'd be 66.

You're only as old as you feel. Right now, I feel like a 20-year-old. Unfortunately, she's not interested. <rim shot> Seriously, in my head, I'm still in my thirties at the oldest. My trivia BOK goes back well before my birth, and has since I was a teenager. The rest of my BOK comes from getting older and just plain going through life. Not rich, not poor, reasonably intelligent, able to feed my family, put my kids through college, keep a roof over our heads (leaky or otherwise). Not Joe the Plumber, but Albert Average or Normal Norbert. I occasionally wish for a more interesting life, but since that isn't always positive ("May you live in interesting times."), I can deal with what I've got. No significant complaints, and plenty of blessings. And a group of cyberfriends here who are a lot of fun, politics and elections notwithstanding.

Now that I've finished waxing philosophical, I'll polish it to leave it all nice and shiny and get to work. TTFN.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.
