My associate got her flu shot, and the next day she was as sick as a dog.

But if you get the flu, it's your fault!

I have had two flu shots in my life. Both times I got chills and fever that lasted a couple of days. Dead virus my patoot!

Back in the day, our ship was headed to Hong Kong for R & R. Everyone on board had to get a flu shot--Hong Kong flu was big that year. I ducked out of the line and went back to the radio shack holding my arm like I had been stabbed. Short story shorter: I was the only one in the radio gang that did not eventually get the flu. However, I did stand radio watch for over 36 hours because everyone else was ill.

My late father got his flu shot every year and never had any reaction whatsoever. Whatever.

That was 1968. I was one of the first to get Hong Kong flu - from someone from Hong Kong. :(

Last year I got a flu shot and it was quick and painless and I didn't get sick.

This year I got a flu shot and the nurse gave me the shot too high, it struck a nerve and I lost the ability to use my fingers for at least an hour. It hurt like hell!

Wow, that's so weird. I can feel your pain; they always hurt me like hell, and the pain lasts locally for several days. My son, the joker, loves to swat my arm several times a day after my shot and watch me yell. Not too bright, being so close to gift season and all...

We've been getting the flu shots every year ever since it's become the common thing to do. Have never felt sick after getting one. Can also not remember the last time I've had the flu.

I got my flu shot a couple weeks ago. Our visiting nurse association does flu shot clinics at various places around town (churches, senior centers, grocery stores) to make it easy for people to get the shots.

I got mine on a Saturday afternoon at the grocery store. The line wasn't very long. A couple hours later, my arm hurt where the nurse put the needle into me (it wasn't bad right AFTER ths shot, but later it hurt!!)

The next day I woke with a cold-sniffles,coughing, sneezing, aching. I laid low for a week. I even went to the DOCTOR. He said it was a virus.

Hopefully I don't get the flu this year. Paying $30.00 to get a shot is better than paying a big doctor bill!

You know a couple of weekends ago when I was sick? I had gotten the flu shot a few days earlier.

Maybe un-related but curious.

I don't get a flu shot very often, but I haven't been able to detect whether the shot has any effect on whether I get sick that year or not.

I got a husband who works in hospitals and nursing homes, and four kids in three different schools. I suppose I should round up the whole crew for a shot, huh? Maybe on a Wednesday so if there's any reaction it would be over a weekend.

My sister is allergic to her new allergy shot. Whadayado about stuff like that? My family is so weird...

I certainly think so. Besides protecting your family, Dr. Mini needs to protect his patients from anything the family might share with him.

Every year for the past 10 years or so, I get the flu shot.

Every year, it hurts like hell and I get sick within 2 weeks of getting it.

One year back in college, I did not get a flu shot and I was sick for 2 weeks straight - like can't get out of bed sick. So I will continue to get the flu shot to at least try to prevent that.

But I agree that it is super weird that so many people get sick after getting the shot!!!!
