Reflections on The Election

#1 Post by Sir_Galahad » Wed Nov 05, 2008 7:05 am

So now that all is said and done, it is time for me to reflect on what is, what was and what will we.

No, the person I voted for did not win. But, this is not surprising as I have not voted for a winner since
Clinton's first term. (Yes, I used to vote democrat).

Do I think the U.S. will suffer as a result of Obama's election? No more than if McCain were elected. I think
the country is in pain right now and Obama could be the one to heal the nation. Time will tell.

Will Obama's election effect me personally in my day to day living? Maybe. Maybe not. There have been so
many pages written, so many things reported and so much spin that it is difficult for me to wade through it
all and come to a clear conclusion.

I am still uncomfortable with the Democrats control of the three houses. But, being an optimist, I have to
believe that most of our representation has the country's best interests at heart. But, seeing and hearing all
that has gone on says that I may be wrong here, too.

Will Obama take this country down the road as reported by the right wingers such as Rush and Hannity? And,
if he does, will that be for the betterment of the country or just the opposite?

The future is impossible to predict. One thing is for certain. Things will happen within the next four years
that no one predicted. I don't know if they will benefit or hurt but I believe they will happen. All we can do
is watch and see if Obama makes the right decisions.

I am, first, an American and proud to be one. And, like all good citizens, I will support our president until he
gives me cause not to.

You have lived up to my expectations of you, sirge.

One of the reasons I would never put you on my foe list.

We are fellow Americans.

You are not my enemy, nor I yours.

We should all be today.

Well except for our Canadian friends. :D

But I am glad to see this post Sir G.

We will be okay because the country will be okay.

Maybe even better. Who knows!

How funny would that be...we'd be up there all prepared with our witty banter...if it didn't work for BAM, maybe at a debate??

Are you kidding me? Opponents of the BB would just have to point as his/her associations (other BBs), and he'd lose every election.

Especially if MM are considered.
Enough already. It's my fault! Get over it!

That'll be $10, please.
