Mecca Is Evil
After Wal~Mart Radio was effectively shut down during store hours back in May (Apparently the latest in a line of decisions to be more like Target), I kinda grew to miss those same old same old songs I used to always complain about. There is nothing worse than dead air, which is all we got the last 5 months from 10 to midnight and 5 AM until we leave at 7:00....
Well, so I thought. When the calendar turned over to November at midnight, so did the latest new phase of Wal~Mart Radio......... All Christmas Muzak all the time (Well, during the former dead air times). I am not being derogitory either.... it is really muzak. It is the kind of stuff you'd hear in a mall elevator during the holidays. It is beyond hideous, and to make matters worse, the volume is definitely up louder than normal for this garbage. The radio we turn up at night over in the Automotive department usually drowns out the speaker above my department..... but not tonight.....
If I snap and go insane sometime over the next 2 months, could one of the Bored attorneys please ensure that I am able to enter a plea of holiday induced insanity? Thank you....

OK, it's the first of November. I was flipping radio stations and what did I come across but a station playing "Frosty the Snowman"! It was in the upper 50's today, and will be in the mid 60's on Election Day. NO snow anywhere. I like Christmas music, but please wait until AFTER I eat my Thanksgiving dinner!
I haven't been in my local Mecca lately, but if they are playing Chrsitmas music at lb's store, they are probably doing the same thing here. Ugh.

As soon as the clock struck 12 on Nov 1, the Halloween stuff was gone and the X-mas stuff was all over the place, it appears.

A bunch of us piled into a mini-van on Veterans' Day about a million years ago and headed for South Mecca, except it was a loooooooooooong time ago (yes, I know I said a million years...) and there was no actual Mecca yet. The mall, however, was fabulous. The gas was equitably purchased by picking up the driver's lunch tab. Most of those same folkses shop on-line now. Not me! I'm headed for the sporting goods shop and the dollar store.
